Who We Are

Owosso Church of God

(Seventh Day)

We're Your Kind of People

Welcome to the Owosso Church of God (Seventh Day), better known as CoG7 Owosso. We are a diverse group of Christians who gather throughout the week and on Saturdays to worship God, study the Bible, and invite more of the Holy Spirit into our lives. We are people just like you. We have struggles, stresses, and difficulties that can make life hard. That is why we do life together. When we encourage each other to be the best version of ourselves and give room for the Holy Spirit to work, we find a purpose for life. If you are looking for a community to celebrate your successes with and lift you up when you are down, join us for service Saturday morning or call our office and schedule a time to meet our pastor and leadership team. Hope to see you soon!

Core Beliefs

THE HOLY BIBLE
The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s inspired Word. Inerrant in its original writing, the Bible is the only authoritative and infallible rule of faith and conduct for humanity.

THE DEITY
The sovereign deity of the universe is God Almighty, who is to be worshipped in spirit and in truth. He is eternal, infinite, holy, self-existent Spirit who created, sustains, rules, redeems, and judges His creation. He is one in nature, essence, and being. God is revealed in Scripture as Father and Son.

MAN, SALVATION, AND LIFE
Sinful humanity may be saved from the penalty of eternal death and receive eternal life instead, solely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human merit, works, or ceremonies. Atonement for sins, with its attendant promise of eternal life, comes through Christ’s death and resurrection on our behalf and is received in human experience by faith and repentance.

THE CHURCH
The church of God in Scripture is a spiritual body of believers who hold the faith of Jesus and keep the commandments of God. Under the lordship of Christ and the authority of His Word, the church exists universally and locally for purposes of worshipping God, preaching the gospel, nurturing believers, and serving humanity. Christians should participate in the church’s mission by service to others and fellowship with believers.

THE SABBATH
The seventh-day Sabbath is God’s gift to humanity from creation, was written into the Ten Commandments by God’s finger, kept and taught by Jesus, and observed by the apostolic church. A memorial of both creation and redemption, the Sabbath should be faithfully celebrated by believers now as a day of rest, worship, and well-doing.

CoG7 Publications

The General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh Day) emphasizes the development and production of several publications. Print resources include The Bible Advocate (also available online), tracts and study booklets, and quarterly group discussion guides. Online resources include Now What?, a monthly publication that addresses issues relevant to culture today, and study materials for each book of the Bible.

Founded in 1863, the Bible Advocate (BA) is one of the oldest religious magazines in America and is distributed bimonthly in print and online. The BA offers content on current social and religious issues, Christian living, and practical teachings on biblical topics and doctrine. Read the BA Online at baonline.org.

Our bimonthly newsletter, Churchright, provides news and events from our districts, as well as updates on what the General Conference is doing to further the kingdom.

Now What? is a monthly e-magazine of personal experience stories that show people’s struggles that either led them to faith in Christ or deepened their walk with God. Some stories also include resources for such things as addictions, mental illness, and grief.

Our tracts cover a wide range of biblical and theological topics, as well as current concerns in society. Tracts help shape the foundations of our faith and develop our Christian worldview.

The Bible Advocate Press provides local churches and study groups with Bible curriculum and study guides that deepen their knowledge of God and His Word. Lessons are available for all age groups.
